The 2025 March of the Mayors was a
Huge success!

​ FIFTY MAYORS TEAMed UP TO FEED OUR
HUNGRY NEIGHBORS!​
​
With the help of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of food donors, we packed 8,512 food boxes and distributed them to 55 food pantries across the state!
Every box weighed approximately 10 pounds, which is 85,210 pounds of food. The USDA describes a meal as 1.2 pounds of food, so the grand total of meals created through March of the Mayors is 71,008.

March of the Mayors is a statewide canned food drive championed by the mayors of cities across Mississippi to collect food items to support their local pantries.

Volunteer:
This is where the Mardi Gras Magic REALLY happens! Help us build food boxes loaded with shelf-stable food items from our AMAZING cities. These food boxes to go directly to feed the hungry in YOUR community! The food comes in from each participating city, and PARADES out to our partner food pantries to be distributed to their clients.
Food Packing Parties:
The Week of February 24-28, Extra Table, along with the regional sponsors and a load of volunteers, hosts Mississippi’s Largest Food Box Packing Parties in five regions over five days to meld together the collections of participating cities.
Food collected and packed by regions will support the local food pantries of each participating city.
