Extra Table provides healthy, shelf-stable food to our hungry neighbors throughout 70 counties in Mississippi. By donating today, you’ll fight hunger differently alongside our team. For every $1 donated, we can provide 5.9 meals.

Remember, you can designate your gift to support a particular region in Mississippi or a specific food pantry. When you give to Extra Table FEEDS, 100 percent of your gift goes to purchasing food. If you'd like to support the work of Extra Table in other ways, consider designating your gift to Extra Table ADMIN.

Matching gift programs allow you to increase the impact of your gift. Many companies encourage their employees to make charitable contributions by matching their philanthropic support. Some companies will even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

 

To find out if your employer has a matching gift program, contact your Human Resources department to obtain a matching gift form.

Bank Draft

Bank draft provides a convenient recurring gift option with an automatic draft from your bank account initiated by Extra Table monthly. Donors who wish to set up a monthly bank draft should complete the Bank Draft Authorization Form and provide a voided check.

For many of our generous donors and friends, it is important to ensure Extra Table continues the fight to eliminate hunger for years to come. There are various ways to make a l commitment after your lifetime to support our hunger relief efforts. We would be happy to discuss a gift option that meets your philanthropic goals.

Remembering Extra Table in a bequest is often the easiest way for many donors to make a legacy gift. You can make a significant difference in helping to feed people and fight hunger by naming Extra Table as a beneficiary.

Here are some common bequest options:
 

  • SPECIFIC BEQUEST: The donor determines a specific dollar amount or asset to leave to Extra Table.

  • RESIDUAL BEQUEST: Donors give Extra Table a percentage or remainder of their estate after providing for loved ones.

​

  • PERCENTAGE BEQUEST: Donors give Extra Table a percentage of their total estate.

 

  • CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY: A charitable gift annuity allows a donor to transfer cash or marketable property. Your gift is held for Extra Table. The donor(s) receive fixed payments during their lifetime and potential tax benefits for choosing to support Extra Table through a charitable gift annuity. Once the donor(s) pass away, the residual of the charitable gift annuity comes to Extra Table.

  • LIFE INSURANCE: Life insurance gifts can be made by either assigning an existing policy to Extra Table or by designating Extra Table as a beneficiary of a new policy.

FBCO Tax Credit 

Credits available for contributions to Food Bank Charitable Organizations (FBCO)

DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR TAX CREDIT 

This tax credit, for businesses contributing to food bank charitable organizations like Extra Table, is a $1 for $1 credit up to 50 percent of a businesses' total tax liability. Should a business overestimate the amount of taxes due, there is a

five-year rollover period. This is not a tax deduction; it’s a tax credit.

This credit applies to business taxpayers, including corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and sole proprietorships)!

​

The tax credits can be used for the following:

  • Income Tax (50% of tax liability)

  • Insurance Premium Tax (50% of tax liability)

  • Insurance Premium Retaliatory Tax (50% of tax liability)

  • Ad Valorem Tax (50% of real property tax liability)
